The legislation necessary to reduce electricity bills by 25 per cent this summer has passed at Queen's Park.

All residential customers, and as many as half a million small businesses and farms are expected to benefit.

Both the Tories and NDP voted in opposition, claiming it does little to address to the real problems associated with high hydro costs.

Last week, Ontario's Financial Accountability Officer reported the plan will save ratepayers 24-billion dollars, but cost the province 45-billion to over the next 29 years.
