The Kenora OPP are continuing to put a major focus on youth-at-risk.
Police are applying for funding for a new project targeting high-risk youth.
Constable Bob Bernie says they are partnering with the Kenora Chiefs Advisory to
provide support for local teens.
"We're calling it the Kenora Youth Crisis and Outreach Team. It's a crisis response worker provided by Kenora Chiefs Advisory, working with a police officer and actually riding along with that police officer for three eight hour shifts during the week, at peak times that we have identified."
Bernie adds that there are currently no crisis reponse services available for kids under the age of 16 and they want to
address that void.
